Le Vieux Moulin Mirabeau
Country House/Villa with swimming pool for rent in Provence, South Luberon

SITUATION/LOCATION :

Mirabeau is strategically located in the South Luberon, near the intersection of 4 departments: the Vaucluse, the Bouches du Rhone, the Alpes de Haute Provence and the Var.
The house is in the the Vaucluse, just a couple of minutes from the Durance river, and its valley extending South towards Aix-en-Provence (20 miles away), west to where it empties into the Rhone just South of Avignon and North to the snow-capped Alps where it finds its source.
Marseille, its beaches and airport are conveniently just 45 minutes away.   The high speed train station (gare TGV) outside of Aix-en-Provence is about 35 minutes from the house.

Quite a few good films were shot in Mirabeau.  Our two favorites are "Jean de Florette " and "Manon des sources (Manon of the Springs)" directed by Claude BERRI, from a Marcel Pagnol story staring Daniel AUTUEIL, Gerard DEPARDIEU, Emmanuelle BEART, Yves MONTAND....

The recent film "A Good Year" based on Peter Mayle's novel, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe was shot in the Luberon, mostly around Cucuron about 14 miles from Mirabeau.  "Swimming Pool" was also shot nearby in Lourmarin and Lacoste

The most stunning and extensive lavender fields are quite near on the plateaux around Valensole (25 miles away) and Sault (45 miles away).

Some of the most spectacular beaches on the French Riviera including the Callanques of Cassis-Marseille are less than an hour's drive away. We're only 9 miles from Pertuis and 14 from Manosque. In both touns you'ill find all amenities, shopping with outdoor, Provencal markets. Click HERE for the map and directions.
